The German Vega Association is delighted to invite all Vega sailors to the
26th International Friendship Regatta (IFR)
in Rostock-Warnemünde from 25th to 30th July 2016.
This traditional, international Vega meeting will take place at the marina in Warnemünde. Due to its exceptional positioning at the middle jetty between the old and the new course of the river Warnow, it is rightly seen as one of the most remarkable harbours along the Baltic Sea.
That is where the well-equipped sports school “Yachthafen Warnemünde” of the Sports Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is situated. It has great experience in running national and international regattas and will provide helpful support during our Vega Regatta. As a main component of the IFR, regattas will take place on the Baltic Sea for two days. Alternatively we will sail on the River Warnow.
As well as this highlight, we will undertake excursions in the beautiful vicinity of Warnemünde. Furthermore Vega workshops as well as different information events will be planned.
To round off our event, we will have a cruising race of all Vegas to the city harbour of Rostock.
Sufficient parking spots for cars and motor homes for all IFR participants are provided next to the spacious harbour facility at the middle jetty. Additionally there is the possibility for renting rooms or holiday flats at the sports school. Mind you this must be announced with the IFR preliminary registration.
To ensure good planning all those who are interested in participating in our Vega event must complete a non-binding registration with us by the end of December 2015.
The binding registration will take place in spring 2016. The registration forms can then be downloaded from the website of the German Vega Association.
We will do our very best to make the IFR 2016 a great, exciting and eventful experience for all Vega participants. The most popular cruise port Warnemünde, the marina in Warnemünde as well as the German Vega Association look forward to welcoming you!
